Scheduling and emergencies
We prefer phone calls to web form submissions, especially for new patients and insurance questions. A phone call lets us ask for the exact plan information before the visit. You can reach us at (972) 317-1581.
For dental emergencies during office hours, our goal is a same-day appointment, and that usually works out. After hours, our phone line offers to page the doctor.
Payment
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, debit cards, cash, and checks. You can also pay online through our patient payment portal.
A 3% surcharge applies to credit card payments. This includes credit card payments made online. The surcharge applies only to credit cards. It does not apply to debit cards, cash, or checks.
Financing is available through CareCredit, subject to credit approval. The link below opens the application for Dawson Family Dentistry with our office code already included.
Invisalign is the only treatment with an in-house payment plan. For other treatment, CareCredit is the financing option available through our office.
Because every case is priced individually, we do not publish treatment fees on this page. After your exam, you will receive a written treatment plan.
Discounts for patients without insurance
We have two 5% discount policies for patients who do not have dental insurance.
- Patients age 65 or older with no dental insurance receive 5% off, regardless of payment method.
- Patients under 65 with no dental insurance receive 5% off when paying by cash or check.
These discounts are only for patients without dental insurance. Patients with dental insurance are not eligible for these discounts because plan rules and insurance billing requirements do not allow us to adjust those charges in that way.
The discounts do not stack. The maximum discount is 5%, not 10%. If a discount applies and the remaining balance is paid with a credit card, the 3% credit card surcharge is calculated on the discounted amount actually charged to the card.
Insurance
We are in network for many individual dental plans, but network status is always specific to the plan or policy. We do not hold company-level contracts with dental insurance companies, so the company name on your card is not enough to tell you whether your plan is in network.
Please call (972) 317-1581 before your visit with your dental insurance information. Our front office can check the actual plan you have.
Our plan-level participation runs through two fee networks, each of which appears under more than one name. The first may show up in plan documents as Zelis, Stratose, Maverest Dental Network or Dental Wellness Partners (DWP). The second may show up as Sun Life, Sun Life Financial or Dental Health Alliance (DHA). These are the names of fee networks rather than a list of insurers we are contracted with, and plans from the same company do not all use the same network. If you spot one of these names in your plan documents, mention it when you call. It helps us find your plan faster.
We are not contracted with Delta Dental, and we are not a Medicare dental provider.
If we are out of network with your plan, that does not automatically mean you cannot be seen. For out-of-network plans, the patient pays us in full on the day of service. If the plan has out-of-network benefits, the insurer reimburses the patient directly. We cannot control whether the insurer reimburses, when it reimburses, or how much it reimburses.
We submit insurance claims for patients. We cannot negotiate with an insurer, change the benefits in your plan, or make an insurance estimate a guarantee of payment.
For major treatment, we send a predetermination to the insurer first. A predetermination is still an estimate, not a guarantee.
